When a user faces a dangerous situation, pressing the SOS button can send an emergency SMS. By doing this the app will automatically send an emergency help message to the nearest police station as well as to the user's registered friends and family members.

The SMS message will contain important information such as the user's phone number and may in the future include audio or video footage captured by the phone. This data will provide valuable evidence and help the police assess the situation quickly. In addition, the message will provide the user's geographic location, allowing law enforcement agencies to determine their exact coordinates using Google Maps.

Registered friends and family members will also receive the emergency SMS, so that multiple parties are aware of the user's danger and can take necessary action. This feature of the app increases the possibility of quick transactions and provides an additional layer of security.

Activating a support request:

  • Ø  Tapping the Emergency button will open a popup dialog.
  • Ø  Where Help Me and Help Others, options are available.
  • Ø  Tapping on the help me button will determine the type of crime.
  • Ø  It will ask to select the police station, if you tap the nearest police station, it will automatically take the nearest police station or you can select the police station from the dropdown menu.
  • Ø  The user will be asked to rate the severity of his complaint whether the message is an emergency or a general one.
  • Ø  Then a form will open in front of the user which needs to be filled accurately.

Ø  After completing the above steps step by step, tap on the finish button and the app will immediately start the help request process. It will quickly send a message to the selected police station through the apps backend server. which is the users signal for help.

 

Simultaneously, the App will start tracking the users location using GPS technology or other available location services on the users device. This is very important to provide accurate information to law enforcement authorities or friends who have been added to the list.

 

Notifying authorities and emergency contacts: The app will automatically notify designated law enforcement agencies, such as the nearest police station, the moment the user is in danger. Additionally, the app can notify the users pre-selected friends or family members about requests for help. The app may also send important details to authorities and law enforcement authorities. This will include the users current location, captured audio or video footage, and additional information provided by the user. Upon receiving a request for assistance, law enforcement may request immediate action by dispatching assistance to the users location.

Complain

One of its features allows users to send complaint reports to the nearest or selected authorities. To complete this process, a user needs to follow these steps:

  • Ø  Open the Self Protect app on your device.
  • Ø  Navigate to the Complain button within the app.
  • Ø  Select the authority to whom you want to make the complaint.
  • Ø  Fill the form that opens in front of you step by step giving details about the crime or incident you want to report.

Ø  Include as much relevant information as possible, such as the nature of the crime, location, date, and photos and relevant descriptions that will help authorities determine the seriousness of the complaint. And that is your supporting evidence. Once you have entered all the required information, check if it is correct.

Ø  Confirm your complaint and press submit button. And the app will securely send the complaint to the selected authority.

Ø  You will receive a confirmation message indicating that your complaint has been sent successfully.
